Practice Philosophy
Dr. Ghaffari seeks to give each patient the treatment he would want for himself and for his family in a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere. He enjoys interacting with patients, seeing beautiful results develop, establishing life-long friendships, and utilizing cutting edge technology and techniques in orthodontics to achieve the best results. He is a firm believer in treating each patient individually and as conservatively as possible.
About Dr. Ghaffari
Dr. Ghaffari grew up in Northern Virginia. He
attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology where he
perfected the art of balancing a difficult academic workload with the intense
physical challenges of wrestling and Tae Kwon Do. He also spent time computer
programming and he continues to embrace technology.
Despite receiving an admission offer from West Point, Dr. Ghaffari decided to stay closer to his family and attend Duke University. He double majored in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, earned a 4.0 grade point average, and graduated summa cum laude.
Next, Dr. Ghaffari attended the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) where he studied dentistry and orthodontics. Dr. Ghaffari graduated at the top of his dental class and received numerous academic commendations for his excellent performance and outstanding service to the community. While at MCV, he received grants to study the genetics of tooth eruption and the effects of the Medicaid program on orthodontic outcomes.
Dr. Ghaffari has received numerous accolades and awards for his skills as a clinician and for his ability to think critically in taxing situations. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. As a former member of the VCU Craniofacial/Facial Reconstruction Team, he has had extensive experience with difficult interdisciplinary cases requiring orthognathic jaw surgery. In addition, Dr. Ghaffari has volunteered on various mission trips both locally and abroad to provide dental services in impoverished communities. Dr. Ghaffari helps organize the annual Give Kids a Smile event in Northern Virginia to provide thousands of dollars of dental treatment to children who could not afford it otherwise.
